Dear School Community,
Governor Murphy has announced that schools in the state of New Jersey will be closed for in-person instruction for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. I understand the disappointment that many of our administrators, teachers, support staff, parents, and students may feel, but we also understand the importance of being safe during this pandemic crisis. Although we will not be able to physically see each other, students will not be able to see and learn alongside their friends nor their teachers, we will continue to provide remote learning experiences for our students and district staff, using our online platforms.
Now is an ideal time to develop innovative strategies specifically for our students, as we continue to prepare, inspire, and empower them. These are unprecedented times, and our role as educators is to provide every student with an overabundance of love, support, and guidance while leveraging innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
Although the end of year celebrations will not happen in the traditional manner, we have been hard at work; developing safe and creative ways to honor our Class of 2020 graduating Seniors.
Our number goal is to keep our students safe and healthy while meeting their educational needs. I assure you that we will continue to provide learning opportunities for students for the remainder of the year and do exactly what we are supposed to do as educators - push the boundaries for our students.
As more information about our current situation becomes available from local and state agencies, I’ll make sure that you’re aware as quickly as possible. Be safe and take care of yourself and families as well.
