March 25, 2020 — Spring 2020 Statewide Assessments

Message

March 25, 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Given the continued threat of the COVID-19 outbreak, the State of New Jersey has cancelled all statewide student assessments for the Spring 2020 testing window. This includes the springtime administration of the following assessments:

  • New Jersey Student Learning Assessments (NJSLA)
  • ACCESS for ELLs
  • Dynamic Learning Maps (DLM) assessment

Current grade twelve students who have not yet met their graduation assessment requirement will continue the process of portfolio appeals. Furthermore, current grade 9, 10 and 11 students (and grade 8 students taking high school level courses) will have the opportunity to take the NJSLA in the summer or fall of 2020 to meet their graduation assessment requirements.

Contact the Department of Assessments with any questions.

Thank you,

Vanessa R. Pellington, Ed.D.
Director of Assessments, Planning and Program Evaluation
