March 6, 2020 — COVID-19 Outbreak Response

Message from the Superintendent of Schools

March 6, 2020

Dear School Community,

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues spreading throughout the United States with new cases recently confirmed in New Jersey.

Given this evolving situation, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), New Jersey Department of Education, New Jersey Department of Health, Middlesex County Public Health Department and the City of New Brunswick continue to monitor all developments related to the COVID-19. School districts have been asked to plan and prepare for the possibility of community-level outbreaks.

Specifically, our school district has worked diligently to develop a COVID-19 Outbreak Response Plan that will be implemented in the event of a local outbreak. This plan includes prevention and detection of any potential COVID-19 cases, plus continuity of teaching, learning, and operations.

Our goal is to make sure everyone utilizing our district facilities are safe and that our students continue to receive a quality education to the greatest extent possible. We will continue to monitor this situation and adjust our plans accordingly. For more information and regular updates, visit our district website at www.nbpschools.net.

Thank you,

Dr. Aubrey A. Johnson
Superintendent of Schools
