December 23, 2021 - Holiday Message from the Superintendent

Dear School Community,

I don’t believe there’s ever before been a holiday break as timely as the one we are about to enjoy. We are suddenly facing a rapid upswing in the pandemic, we have been navigating various challenges stemming from students’ use and misuse of social media platforms, and we have consistently needed to guide children who feel overwhelmed by these confusing times. If ever our faculty, staff, and administrators needed several days to step away, it’s right now.

With that said, I thank you for your inspired, often courageous efforts since September. Collectively, you are a remarkable team of educators and support staff. So please use this holiday break to recuperate and gain new energy; laugh and smile; share meals and stories with those who are dear to you; and seek renewal in cherished activities and traditions. When we return after the New Year, it won’t be any easier. But we at least know we can handle whatever problems arise. We’re strong, we’re resilient, and we’ll keep pushing forward toward a better, easier time.

Again, thank you for your exceptional efforts. Have a wonderful, joyous holiday season!
Happy Holidays!

Dr. Aubrey A. Johnson
