May 4, 2020 — Update on Lincoln Annex School

May 4, 2020

Dear Lincoln Annex School Parents/Guardians,

As a follow-up to my February 28 communication, I’m reaching out to provide you the latest information related to the Lincoln Annex School. During our April 28 board meeting, the New Brunswick Board of Education adopted a resolution to move forward with the exchange agreement with New Brunswick Development Corporation (DEVCO) and proceed with the construction of a new Lincoln Annex School at 50 Jersey Avenue.

If the new Long Range Facilities Plan recently submitted to the Department of Education is approved, the new school would be built during a three-year period. For this time, Lincoln Annex School would temporarily relocate to the Pathways Campus at 40 Van Dyke Avenue. Additional details of the proposed new facility can be obtained by clicking on the link, Site Comparison Report provided by DMR Architects.  We will continue to provide updates about Lincoln Annex School on the New Brunswick Public Schools website.

As I have stated in the past, my primary focus, and that of our board, is improving educational outcomes, while serving the best interests of our students and the city of New Brunswick. Thank you for your continued support of our students; I know that providing them with an excellent education is our shared goal.

Thank you,

Dr. Aubrey A. Johnson
Superintendent of Schools
