Summer School
This summer, our district will provide opportunities for students to accelerate their learning. Based on feedback from parents, teachers and staff, our 4-week Project-Based Learning program will be held Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Elementary and Middle school levels, beginning on July 10, 2023 in the following district schools: A.C. Redshaw, Lord Stirling, Lincoln, McKinley, Paul Robeson, Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, and New Brunswick Middle School. All students currently in Grades 6-7 districtwide will be attending New Brunswick Middle School and all students currently in Grade 8 districtwide will be attending New Brunswick High School for the summer. Additionally, our 4-week programs at New Brunswick High School will be held Monday through Friday, from 7:45 AM - 2:00 PM and are as follows: High School Summer Bridge, Credit Recovery, and Credit Advancement.
Students in K-7 will be offered reading and math enrichment as part of summer school programming. Students in K-7 will have opportunities for special area enrichment (PE/health, art, music, media literacy) as part of the project-based learning component. Additionally, we will provide interventions for our most vulnerable students in reading, math and English language acquisition.
