Paul Robeson Community School for the Arts
NEW AND IMPROVED – Marking the official re-opening of the Paul Robeson Community School for the Arts – following a two-year, $47.1 million project that essentially doubled the school’s size – New Brunswick Public Schools held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, September 6, 2018. Named in honor of Paul Robeson, the renowned actor, concert musician, and political activist who was born and raised in New Jersey, the school now has an additional 60,000 square feet of classrooms, science rooms, and multi-purpose rooms. In addition, the project featured the incorporation of multiple, new technology capabilities.
The event was attended by various New Brunswick Public Schools board members and administrators, as well as local community leaders, including New Brunswick’s mayor, James Cahill; Dr. Dale Caldwell, board of education president; and Dr. Aubrey Johnson, superintendent of schools.
