August 25, 2025 - School Name Change Communication

August 25, 2025

Dear Parents and Guardians,

I hope this message finds you and your family well as we prepare for another exciting school year together. I want to share that the Board of Education has officially renamed Woodrow Wilson School as Robert J. Boyler Elementary School, effective immediately.

Mr. Robert J. Boyler, a New Brunswick High School graduate, educator, and mentor, dedicated 38 years of service to New Brunswick Public Schools, including his tenure as principal of Woodrow Wilson Elementary. His legacy of mentorship, leadership, and devotion to New Brunswick’s children truly reflects the values we hold as a district.

By renaming the school, the Board of Education continues its commitment to making sure our schools reflect the spirit, history, and values of New Brunswick. Honoring Mr. Boyler in this way recognizes his lifelong contributions and the lasting impact he made on our community.

In the weeks ahead, you will begin to see the new name reflected in school signage, communications, and materials. While the name has changed, our commitment to providing a safe, supportive, and high-quality learning environment for your child remains the same.

Thank you for your continued partnership in your child’s education.

Sincerely,

Dr. Aubrey Johnson

Superintendent of Schools
