• Greeting McKinley Family,
Welcome to McKinley Community School!  The first few days of school were a great success! The staff at McKinley Community School is excited about the start of a new school year. I am looking forward to a great year filled with experiences for our students. I also look forward to working with our families, creating strong and collaborative relationships.

My goal for McKinley School is to create an environment where all students feel safe to explore their intellectual curiosity. Teachers work to achieve this by creating experiences that challenge and engage our students, and also inspire them to try new things.

We believe that in order for students to be successful, there must be a partnership between school and home.  We also acknowledge that parents are the first teachers in our students’ lives and that our job is to strengthen and reinforce those social and academic skills. Research shows that the most important variable in a child's success in school is the parents’ involvement in their child's education. There are many ways that you can be involved in your child’s education. Here are some ways that you can strengthen that home and school relationship:

    • Talk with your child every day about what they did in school
    • Discuss your child’s homework with them each day
    • Help your child develop good study skills • Stay in touch with your child’s teachers
    • Attend and participate in school activities as much as possible
    • Attend parent conferences
    • Read with your child and make sure your child reads everyday
I  encourage every parent to become involved with our Parent Teacher Organization. It is a great way to connect and be a part of the McKinley Community.
I am looking forward to an awesome and successful year!  I thank you in advance for your assistance and support and look forward to seeing you.
