Creating a five year Strategic Plan for New Brunswick Public Schools was a key component of the Superintendent’s initial entry plan. This document, which includes input from building and central office administration, teachers, students, parents, and board of education members, is the culmination of that effort.

The 2016-2021 Strategic Plan focuses on the following six Priorities, which will position the district to empower students with a truly life-changing education.

  1. Rigorous Academic Programs
  2. Human Capital
  3. Community Engagement
  4. Student Accountability
  5. Theme-Based Schools
  6. Health and Wellness

For each of these six Priorities, the Strategic Plan includes Goals, Objectives, and an Action Plan. Of note, Action Plans span various lengths of time with the overall, five-year plan (from present to June 2021), depending on Objectives to be met.

Also of note, the plan includes various Benchmarks. These are significant milestones that should be met twice annually, in February and then again in June, for five years, or until the Objective in question is met.
