Dear School Community,

The district is off to an impressive start for 2015-16 school year. When I walk the halls of our schools and stop in various classrooms, it's easy to see that from kindergarteners up to high school seniors, our students are engaged and motivated. Their smiles are infectious. Their desire to learn is evident.

As I referenced in my September message, I'm engaged in an ongoing "Listening and Learning" tour of our school district. I've been spending parts of someday visiting different schools, meeting with administrators and teachers, and talking with students, parents, and other community members. It's easy to see we've all have a lot to be proud of and excited about.  We've even have a new, state-of-the-art athletic field, and our boys and girls fall sports teams are enjoying banner seasons.

Now, I'm not saying our schools are perfect. Certainly, like any forward-looking school district, we must regularly make adjustments to ensure our students always receive the finest possible education.  So, we'll make changes as necessary  but, at the very least, we know we're getting started from a position of strength. And I'm personally committed to ensuring New Brunswick Public Schools improve with every passing week, month, and year.

I'll continue to keep everyone regularly updated, and value your feedback and ideas.
