Dear School Community,

With the holiday break nearly upon us, I'm taking this moment to express my appreciation for everyone's hard work and support during the first portion of the 2015-2016 school year.  While I'm still relatively new to New Brunswick Public Schools, I've already witnessed, and been impressed by,  the exceptional degree of teamwork taking place daily in all our schools.  I've been inspired on many occasions by the commitment of our young people and their families.

As is the norm in a public education environment, we've been faced with some challenges and in each case, we've prevailed. That's one of the truest indicators of professional excellence, and it also testifies to the determination of our district staff, students, their parents and members of the community at large.

Happily, the first part of the 2015-16 school year hasn't only been about challenges. We've enjoyed a great number of successes, from our music and arts programs, to some bilingual academic results, to our athletic teams, to much more than I could possibly list while still keeping this message brief.

So, I thank you all for your collective enthusiasm and diligence, and on behalf of the Board of Education and Central Office Staff we wish you the happiest of holiday seasons. Let's all take some time during the break to reconnect with family and friends, and to re-energize. We've got a lot to do beginning in January and it's going to be a very eventful year; because we have an excellent team here in New Brunswick -- students, families, faculty, staff, and administration.
